Financial Analyst
Description
North Horizon Holdings Inc is a well capitalized family office located in Toronto seeking global investment opportunities including alternative investments such as private equity, real estate, and hedge funds.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaboratively engage in the monthly closing process, preparing, and finalizing journal entries. Ensure their accuracy and completeness to maintain the integrity of financial records.
2. Contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements. Provide accurate and insightful information to both internal and external stakeholders.
3. Conduct thorough internal reviews of financial data to guarantee compliance with applicable accounting standards.
4. Handle complex data from diverse sources and provide meaningful analysis to stakeholders.
5. Independently generate detailed reports from complex data, to support management discussions by offering valuable insights and recommendations.
6. Build and sustain cooperative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Resolve issues efficiently and advocate for continuous improvement, enhancing operational efficiency.
7. Ensure precision and integrity of all financial data. Ensure the correct recording of accounts to maintain financial health and compliance.
8. Provide ad-hoc reporting and support special projects as required.
Requirements
1. Minimum of 1 – 3 years in accounting or financial reporting roles, with a strong emphasis on analytical tasks and management reporting.
2. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in commerce field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business) is required.
3. Actively pursuing a CPA designation is preferred. Alternatively, pursuing a CFA designation with keen interest in mastering the back office financial environment is also valued.
4. Ability to understand and interpret contracts is considered an asset.
5. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, with effective communication skills are essential.
6. Proficiency in Excel is mandatory, knowledge of advanced excel skills (Macros and VBAs) is a significant plus.
7. Outstanding time management and organization skills, with a proven ability to handle competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
8. Being fluent in both English and Chinese is considered as an asset.
